God's Work

Yesterday was Isi's Cardiology appt. We got there, checked in and waited for about 10 min. He got weighed and he's now up to 10lbs 7 oz. We're almost at 11!. It's so hard to believe how much weight he's picking up. Well, Dr. Carlson comes in and visits with us. She says the surgery is still on for May 13th and he will be having the complete open heart surgery. I'm getting anxious for it to hurry up and get here so we can get it over with . One of the reason's is because out of 5 people in my house, 3 people are sick. Luckily the baby is NOT one of them. We don't need another setback so we've been wearing masks and washing like there's no tomorrow.


So at the appt, Isaiah has to get a Echo done. Unfortunately they were backed up so we had to wait like 30 min. Eventually we got in. After about 5 min, the tech asked me if he had any surgeries that were recently performed. I told her no, and was thinking 'is there something she is supposed to see but is not?' We were in there for about 20 min. during which she had to stop once, check his records, then continue. We went back to the previous room to wait for the Dr. but after about 10 min, the tech came back and said she had to get more pix. We went back and she said she's not seeing the PDA we had seen in a previous appt. Dr. Carlson even came in to look for it. The look on her face was priceless.....she was in utter shock and basically it was nothing short of a miracle. His PDA had closed on it's own. They aren't seeing the blood flow that they had initially seen. It was so evidently clear that previously, they didn't have to even search for it Now, it didn't matter what angle they looked at, the PDA had closed or the blood stopped flowing thru it. Dr. Carlson said, "Well, it wouldn't say it was impossible, but it had never happened and she's now come to expect the unexpected when it comes to Isaiah.

God is so good. Now if we can just get him to fix the VSD and ASD prior to his surgery. When he does go into surgery, Dr. O'Brien will still ligate the PDA just to make sure it doesn't open again. At least there is one less worry between now and then. The power of prayer is undeniable!
