Monday is a little better "small steps"

This morning felt like a lazy day. Micah wasn't feeling well and Antwan's mom flew in this morning so he stayed home. When she got in, time just seemed to fly by. I got Micah fed, jumped in the shower, straightened my hair, ran an errand then went up to the hospital with Ms. B to see Isaiah.

When we got there, Dr. Lancaster came to see me. He told me that Isaiah is doing better now that he's back on the oscillator. He likes that better then the ventilator. They were able to wean his oxygen down to about 39% at one point but when I got there, he was at about 65%. That's still pretty good. They had stopped his other BP med to see if he did OK without them. If needed, they could start them back up. They hydro-cortisone steroid was given to him and he seems to be doing OK with that. They are watching him closely to see if they will need to switch to the stronger steroid Dexamethasone (decadron). The fluid drainage from his chest is even lower now, so that is a plus. He looks even more swollen today, but they said is was the excess fluid and that he just needs to keep urinating like he is to help that. Mom had to give him a pep talk to tell him to pee like he's never peed before. HA! Wonder if he's gonna listen.

Ms. B fell in love with him as this was her first time seeing her new grandson. When it was time to leave, she didn't want to go. I had to remind her she'll be here for a week and she can come back to see him anytime. Speaking of seeing him, since he's on the steroid and they are still making sure he does not have pneumonia, we have asked that visitors not come up. We felt that for the safety of his health, it was best. I think it's a good call and the Dr's felt this was a wise decision. So unfortunately, those of you that haven't seen him yet, you will just need to wait a little longer to get your first personal glimpse of our little one.

Just wanted to share that although still critical, little Isaiah is fighting as much as he can. Mom and Dad will continue to pray as I know all of our friends and family will be doing as well. We appreciate all of it and can't say enough for the kindness that has been shown to us during this trying time in our lives.
